Common Use

Viropil is a fixed-dose combination antiretroviral medication used in the treatment of HIV-1 infection. It works by preventing the virus from multiplying in the body, helping to improve immune function and reduce viral load.

Dosage and Directions

Take Viropil once daily by mouth, preferably with food to enhance absorption and reduce stomach upset. Follow your healthcare provider’s instructions closely and do not miss doses.

Precautions

Inform your doctor if you have liver or kidney disease, especially hepatitis B or C. Regular monitoring of liver function, kidney health, and viral load is important during treatment.

Contraindications

Do not take Viropil if you are allergic to any of its components—Dolutegravir, Lamivudine, or Tenofovir. It should not be used with certain medications like dofetilide due to serious interaction risk.

Possible Side Effects

Common side effects may include headache, fatigue, nausea, and trouble sleeping. In rare cases, it may cause lactic acidosis, liver problems, or severe allergic reactions.

Drug Interaction

Inform your doctor about all medications, supplements, or herbal products you take, especially antacids, anticonvulsants, or other antiretrovirals. Some drugs may reduce Viropil’s effectiveness or increase side effect risk.

Missed Dose

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it's close to your next dose, skip the missed one—do not take two doses at once.

Overdose

Seek emergency medical help if an overdose is suspected. Symptoms may include severe fatigue, nausea, or liver/kidney complications.

Storage

Store at room temperature in a dry place, away from moisture and heat. Keep the container tightly closed and out of reach of children.
