Vaseretic

Common Use

Vaseretic is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) by combining two active agents: Enalapril, an ACE inhibitor, and Hydrochlorothiazide, a diuretic. Together, they help relax blood vessels and reduce fluid retention to lower blood pressure effectively.

Dosage and Directions

Take Vaseretic orally once daily, with or without food, exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Try to take it at the same time each day to maintain consistent blood levels.

Precautions

Inform your doctor if you have kidney disease, liver problems, diabetes, or a history of electrolyte imbalance. Avoid dehydration, as this can increase the risk of side effects such as low blood pressure or kidney issues.

Contraindications

Do not use Vaseretic if you are allergic to Enalapril, Hydrochlorothiazide, sulfa drugs, or any ACE inhibitors. It is contraindicated during pregnancy and in patients with a history of angioedema.

Possible Side Effects

Common side effects include dizziness, fatigue, dry cough, and increased urination. Serious but rare effects may include electrolyte disturbances, severe hypotension, or kidney dysfunction.

Drug Interaction

Vaseretic may interact with NSAIDs, lithium, potassium supplements, diuretics, or other blood pressure medications. Always inform your healthcare provider about all the drugs and supplements you're taking.

Missed Dose

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it's close to your next scheduled dose, skip the missed one—do not double the dose.

Overdose

Symptoms of overdose may include extreme dizziness, fainting, or dehydration. Seek immediate medical attention if an overdose is suspected.

Storage

Store Vaseretic at room temperature, away from moisture and heat. Keep the tablets tightly sealed and out of reach of children.
